Glucosamine is a naturally occurring sugar-related nutrient which is important in normal joint function. Glucosamine exists in all our joints and muscles, playing a role in the everyday mobility and smooth working of cartilage, tendons and ligaments.It is a major building block of the complex proteins called glycosaminoglycans that in turn form part of the structure of cartilage. Has an anti-inflammatory effect. Glucosamine is produced within the body, but the capacity to manufacture sufficient levels declines with age. Larger quantities are needed when damaged joints are healing and, as production of glucosamine is normally a slow process, it is often in short supply. It is, therefore, frequently taken orally as a nutritional supplement. Supplements are the best if not only sources of this nutrient as there are no obtainable food sources. When Bio-Glucosamine Super is taken by mouth, Glucosamine is absorbed into the body and taken in the blood to the joints.

Of the various forms in which Glucosamine may be available, Glucosamine sulphate is the most readily absorbed (>90%) from the digestive tract, and the most readily incorporated into joint tissues. The capsules are produced under pharmaceutical control. The raw materials comply with government regulations in the EC and Scandinavia. Testing ensures that the raw materials are in accordance with their certificates of analysis. Glucosamine Sulphate 2KCl - Stands for Glucosamine Sulphate di-potassium (2K) Chloride (Cl). The potassium chloride (mineral salt) is joined to the Glucosamine to form a stable molecule and its wide availability means that it has been used in most of the clinical studies to date. Glucosamine Sulphate - During digestion the Glucosamine Sulphate breaks away from the mineral salt. This is the amount of glucosamine sulphate left once this happens.
