Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin obtained mainly from plant sources, nuts and seeds and a small amount from liver and eggs. The main function of Vitamin E is as an antioxidant, protecting cell membranes from attack by free radicals. Free radicals are toxic chemicals that are unwanted by-products of metabolism. They can also be generated by exposure to pollutants, i.e. pesticides, environmental pollution, UV light, smoking and alcohol consumption.

There are many vitamin E preparations available on the market. However, Bio-E-Vitamin is specifically designed to withstand stomach acidity so as to ensure optimum absorption from the small intestine. Many other preparations can loose their effectiveness when passing through the stomach. Vitamin E (natural or synthetic) can be found in different chemical forms: alpha, beta, delta and gamma tocopherols. All of these forms have a different activities. However, the most effective to the human body is d-alpha-tocopherol as used in Bio-E-Vitamin. The capsules are produced under pharmaceutical control. The raw materials comply with government regulations in the EC and Scandinavia. Testing ensures that the raw materials are in accordance with their certificates of analysis.

Ingredients: E-Vitamin (d-alpha-tocopherol), Soya bean oil, Gelatine, Glycerol.

Nutritional: Each capsule contains 350mg of d-alpha-tocopherol, the most effective form of vitamin e utilized by the body. Individuals taking anticoagulants may have an increased risk of bleeding with high doses of vitamin E. the daily safe upper limit for vitamin E is 55mg.

Directions: Pharma Nord recommends an intake of 1-2 capsules per day of bio-e-vitamin.

Health Warnings: Vitamin E is generally well tolerated, but may occasionally cause gastro-intestinal disturbances or headaches. People taking anticoagulant medications or those with a Vitamin K deficiency may have an increased risk of bleeding with high intakes of Vitamin E. Pregnant or lactating women and those on medication should consult a doctor before taking nutritional supplements. Discontinue use if adverse reactions occur.
