New AstaSUN Skin Support System Tablets works inside and out, to support your skin’s natural sun defence mechanisms. AstaSUN contains the powerful natural antioxidant Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin (pronounced Asta-Zan-Thin) is a Carotenoid, which means it is from the same family of natural compounds that give fruits and vegetables their orange, yellow and red colours. It is the same compound responsible for the pink colour of salmon, trout and shrimp.
Research shows that Astaxanthin is effective at improving tolerance to UV light, decreasing sensitivity to the sun and reducing sunburn. In addition, Astaxanthin helps the body neutralise the damaging free radicals produced by UV radiation which can cause premature ageing & skin cancer. If you’re going to be out in the sun, using both parts of the 'inside/out' AstaSUN Skin Support System by taking one AstaSUN Tablet a day and following up with the After Sun Cream, maximises the level of skin support - helping your body to tackle the rays not blocked by your sunscreen. Excessive exposure of unprotected skin to UV radiation from sunlight causes sunburn and inflammation. Studies have shown that Astaxanthin is effective at improving tolerance to UV light, decreasing sensitivity to the sun and reducing sunburn. One effect of UV radiation on skin cells is the production of free radicals, which damage DNA & other cell components leading to accelerated ageing & even skin cancer (melanomas). Antioxidants such as Astaxanthin provide a defence mechanism against the damaging effects of free radicals by neutralising them before they cause harm.
Ingredients: Bulking Agent; Di-Basic Calcium Phosphate, Astaxanthin complex, Bulking agent; Maltodextrin, Modified starch, Anti – caking agent; Magnesium Stearate, Coating; Potassium aluminium silicate, (E555), Iron Oxide (E172), Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Microcrystalline cellulose, Acetylated Monoglycerides.
Nutritional: There are numerous natural sources of Astaxanthin but one of the most concentrated is the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. The algae uses Astaxanthin as protection from harsh sunlight to survive under extreme environmental conditions. AstaSUN contains Astaxanthin produced from this algae.
Directions: For best results one AstaSUN tablet should be taken every day, starting two weeks prior to sun exposure and each day you plan to go out in the sun. The After Sun cream should be applied every day following sun exposure. Using both AstaSUN tablets and cream together as a double ‘inside/out’ system, maximises the level of skin support. AstaSUN is designed to work along side sunscreen and protective clothing, not as a replacement.
