Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), also known as thioctic acid or simply lipoic acid, is a vitamin-like substance that has generated much interest in the last few years, especially with regards to both its ability to act as a powerful antioxidant and its role in energy production. Since it is difficult to obtain therapeutic amounts of Alpha Lipoic Acid through the diet alone, supplementation has become popular and it is now widely recommended by practitioners, particularly for those worn down by oxidative stress. Each tablet provides a full 300mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid, making it one of the most potent products on the market. It is also one of the best value Alpha Lipoic Acid products available to practitioners.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a sulphur containing fatty acid that is made in the body, and found in every cell, where it is involved in the biochemical processes that convert glucose into energy. ALA is also a potent antioxidant that is used by the body to neutralise free radicals, and what makes ALA so impressive, is that it can work in both water and fat environments, whereas most antioxidants are specific to one or the other environment. For example vitamin E works only in fat and vitamin C only works in water. The importance of ALA is further emphasized by research that shows it may recycle other antioxidants that have been destroyed in the process of neutralising free radicals. This product is the most cost effective ALA supplement available to practitioners. The price of this Lamberts® product, which is a fraction of the price of some other ALA products, reflects our policy to make our products affordable, in order to help ensure patient compliance, and therefore optimise efficacy. We believe ALA has enormous potential for use in clinical practice as a first line approach to some serious conditions. But this is almost impossible at the high price, and low dosage levels, of many of the products available to practitioners. Rest assured, Lamberts® Alpha Lipoic Acid is produced to our normal pharmaceutical standards, and is presented at a strength that is supported by published clinical studies.
Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg, Calcium Carbonate, Cellulose, Tablet Coating (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Glycerin), Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate.
Do not take if pregnant or breast feeding.
Take up to two tablets daily with or without food, or as directed by a practitioner or pharmacist. For general antioxidant support a lower dose of one tablet daily may be used. Do not exceed recommended daily dose.
ALA is a safe and effective antioxidant that is particularly useful in situations where a patient is subject to a high oxidative stress. As a general purpose antioxidant, a dose of 250mg per day is recommended. Where oxidative damage has occurred, a daily dose of 500mg can be used. Those suffering from diabetes should consult a doctor prior to taking alpha-lipoic acid as it may enhance insulin activity.
