Bio-Glucosamine
Supporting Joint Mobility and Tissue Renewal
Repeated lifelong use is damaging to joints. This need not be running or severe exercise; climbing stairs or just even everyday activities gradually take their toll with time.
Most long-term damage occurs when lubricating (synovial) fluids within the joints become thin and watery, usually due to inadequate supply of the basic materials that make up the synovial fluid. As the fluid thins, the cartilage wears down. This contrasts with situation in healthy joints, where the synovial fluid is jelly-like, able to offer greater support and absorb impact.
Scientific studies have revealed that glucosamine, when taken as a nutritional supplement, is well absorbed by the gut, passing to all tissues including joint cartilage, working to help normalise cartilage production and maintain structural integrity.
Bio-Glucosamine Super
With 675mg glucosamine sulphate 2 KCI per capsules (equivalent to 509mg glucosamine sulphate), it is ideal for people who want a higher intake of glucosamine.
This product offers 500mg glucosamine sulphate 2 KCI per tablet (equivalent to 375mg glucosamine sulphate) and the added advantage of 400mg chondroitin which also has a positive effect on joints. The Chondroitin in Bio-Glucosamine MEGA is derived from shark fin unlike many other preparations on the market which use bovine cartilage. This makes it free of BSE risk associated with cattle derived substances.
Avoid if pregnant or breatfeeding. Not suitable for children. Both Bio-Glucosamine Super and Bio-Glucosamine MEGA are not suitable for people with an allergy to shellfish.
Containing a blend of glucosamine and MSM (dimethyl sulfone), this product can be massaged into the required area 2-3 times a day.
As people age, the capacity of the body to manufacture glucosamine is reduced. Supplementation is the best source of additional glucosamine, since there are no accessible food sources of this substance. Taking regular, gentle exercise is also beneficial to the joints, as it stimulates blood supply and the natural regeneration of the joint surface and bone.
